I am a big believer in finding something to love in each season. Even Winter. And even though Summer is totally my favorite. Here in New York City, the temperatures are still pretty warm (joy) but the leaves are turning and everyone has adopted the Fall Fashion Uniform. And I’ve started indulging in my favorite cool-weather stuff.
Here’s what I love about Fall:
Back to school shopping. This might have been a factor in my decision to go to grad school (ridiculous, I know). Even though I am no longer a student, I still love the the mini-fresh start that comes with a new year of school: a wardrobe refresh, a new notebook, new pens….
Fall Fashions. Sweaters! Boots! Cute jackets! I just pulled the sweaters out of storage. I do love my cashmere (this is where I splurge) and about this time every year I start hankering for a new pair of boots, particularly Uggs. They’re perfect for plodding around the house or slipping on for those late night dog walks (this is not a favorite thing, much as I love Miss Penny).
Hot Apple Cider. I concocted a special version, and I call it “Sassy Hot Cider.” The recipe is over at my momma’s blog.
The food. After months of light, cold fare I welcome some really hearty recipes back into rotation. Soups, long slow roasts (in part to heat up the apartment), and baking. This is a great season to be cooking.
Ok, weird question: Do you say Autumn or Fall?

Ahhh, fall (yes, I saw fall, not autumn) is my favorite season by far. The colors changing, the coziness, the layering, the start of the holiday season-what’s not to love?
Yes to the apple cider!
I love watching the leaves change color, and the cute sweaters too. But my absolute favorite part is that it’s the beginning of the holiday season!
I mostly say fall, but use autumn every once in awhile.
I say “fall” and it’s my favorite season. I like sweaters, the cooler weather, fall holidays, pumpkin baked goods, and cider.
Fall
I love fall fashions too! I could live in comfy sweaters and jeans~ Its nice to have a brisk morning and then a nice sunny 60 degree afternoon~
“Fall” to me means I get to wear my sweaters again! I love the colors of the season. I also like that fact that it means Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner (yummy stuff ahead!) We just had a few snow flakes today, but those melted on the ground.
Fall!
I admit that I used to HATE Fall. Something about it literally made me sick. For weeks, my chest would be tight and I’d have feelings of anxiety and foreboding. I don’t know what caused it, but it happened without fail. In recent years, I’ve gotten over it to some extent and enjoy the season more.
And, yes, even at my age, I love to see the school supplies come out in the stores.

My favorite part of Autumn is all the gorgeous colors!! I love them!! They remind me of things I love to eat! Yum! I love Fall!!
